Mayberry Farm is a group of gardens and micro-farms throughout Reno, Nevada dedicated to growing organic foods and to sustainable living education. We are part of the effort to produce 20% of the Truckee Meadows food locally by the year 2020.
Mayberry Farm at the River School
Our original location at the River School along the Truckee River is alive with activity these days. With the spring weather and buds blooming, new smells and colors are out.
We’re busy starting seedlings for our warm-season crops, cultivating new beds, and still getting great production from our cool-season crops.
Stop by to visit our greenhouse, raised beds, cold frames, chickens and ducks (and their eggs for sale), water harvesting, solar PV and hot water heating, and look at our ongoing classes and workshops.

The Valley Road Micro-Farm

Contact Us to buy Produce
Our newest undertaking is the transformation of a plot of land on Valley Road between 6th and 7th streets in downtown Reno. This site will serve as another center for education as we create, from the ground up with help from class participants and apprentices, a new micro-farm.
With over 5000 square feet of growing space we’ll provide local restaurants and the Great Basin Food Co-op with super-local produce
Hoop houses will allow us to grow through all four seasons
Beehives will supply pollinators and honey
Chickens will be integrated into the farm to gobble up pests, provide nitrogen-rich fertilizer, and give eggs and merriment
Workshops on all aspects of farming and gardening
Apprenticeships for the next generation of growers
Extensive composting with a neighborhood
